Many young regional and local leaders are currently on the front line of the fight against a virus that knows no borders and against its social and economic consequences. It is difficult, dramatic and seems impossible, but if our communities react in a united way, we will be able to overcome this crisis together.
Solidarity starts in our cities and regions; so does Europe.
This online event entitled “One hour for solidarity: rebuilding Europe from our cities and regions after COVID-19” aimed at discussing solidarity examples implemented at local and regional levels as well as debating with young local leaders about their ideas for the future of Europe.
To celebrate Europe Day, we wanted to go back to the spirit of the Schuman declaration to rebuild our Union “through concrete achievements which first create a de facto solidarity,” which is what our cities and regions are doing every day and even more so today to face the COVID19 pandemic.
The meeting took place on the video conferencing online platform ‟Zoom” and live-streamed on our Facebook page (see below).
