'My social city': photo competition organised by the PES Group in the European Committee of the Regions

Towns and cities all over Europe - whether in urban zones or in rural areas - are being confronted more and more with acute social inequalities, be it in the area of access to health, education, housing or employment, working conditions or the integration of disadvantaged people into society.

How can we make sure that everybody feels being part of the city?  How 'social' is your city and what could be done to make it a more inclusive place?

The European photo competition "My social city" invites both amateur and professional photographers to capture in a photo social projects and/or social relationships in their towns and cities. In order to offer participants some ideas, you will find an "inspiration cloud" on the PES Group website

The competition runs until 30 June 2018 and is open to all EU residents aged 18 and over.

This is your chance to win up to EUR 1 500 worth of photographic equipment of your choice, as well as a three-day cultural trip to Brussels for two persons.

The three best photos will be selected by a jury composed of members of the Group of the Party of European Socialists (PES) in the European Committee of the Regions (CoR), representing local and regional authorities across the EU, and professionals from the world of photography.

Winners will be invited to an award ceremony that will take place in Brussels between October and December 2018.

The competition is organised in cooperation with SOLIDAR, the European Network of Civil Society Organisations working to advance social justice in Europe and worldwide.

For more information on the competition and to access promotional material, please visit the PES Group website.
