Is there a future for European cities after Covid?
Is there a future for European cities after Covid?

Green Deal
A large portion of the workforce worked remotely during the lockdown, and in most countries is highly encouraged to continue doing so to limit contagion risks. If work decouples from location, one may wonder if it will still make sense for families to choose to live in a city, especially, if public transport is not considered safe. Is there a future for cities? How should we re-invent them?
The PES Group in the European Committee of the Regions joins PD Bruxelles, PES activists Diaspora, PSOE Bruselas, I Vote Where I Live, and sp.a Elsene for a debate online on 23 June at 18:30.
Speakers will include:
- Pascal Smet, State Secretary for Urbanism and international relations of the Brussels region, and member of the PES Group in the European Committee of Regions
- Pierfrancesco Maran, Alderman for Urbanism in Milan
- Victor Negrescu, Vice-President of the Culture Committee of the European Parliament
- More names to be confirmed soon.
