The PES Group in the European Committee of the Regions, together with the Network of Young Councillors of the Young European Socialists (YES), is proud to host the second edition of our “#ProgressivesSpeakUp: School of young local politicians”, a training for young people from all over Europe, elected at local or regional level.
This year’s School will focus on an important priority of European progressives, the European Green Deal. Participants will have the chance to share their progressive local stories, discuss mobilisation strategies, debate with a bunch of inspiring speakers and come up with new ideas together for a local and just Green Deal. The School is taking place on 26-27 November 2021 in Seville, Spain, a city led by a socialist Mayor, Juan Espadas, which is a model for sustainability and cooperation.
To apply to take part in this event, you must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a democratic mandate as an elected politician at regional or local level in a Member State of the European Union;
- Be a member of a progressive, socialist, social-democratic political party;
- Be no more than 35 years old on the day of the event;
- Be fluent in English, as the event will be only in English, without interpretation.
