Europe Cannot Leave Territories Behind
The promise of Europe is a promise of shared prosperity and convergence. The current MFF proposal, with its centralised structure and cuts for cohesion and rural development, risks breaking that promise. By moving towards an ‘à la carte’ budget for capitals, it undermines multi-level governance, the partnership principle, the community-driven approach, and threatens to fracture our Union by forcing regions to compete for funds annually with no chance of medium- to long-term planning. The Commission cannot simply delegate the fundamental task of territorial cohesion to member states, nor can it compromise regional governments for long-term, strategic investment by slashing pre-allocations or subjecting funds to national political alignment.

Let’s forge a powerful narrative for a Europe that invests in all its regions and leaves no one behind. A truly cohesive Union thrives if all its territories are empowered.
